2022 Chairman's Award Recipient
The Chairman’s Award is presented to a member of the national body or an organization in recognition of the recipient’s patience, perseverance and desire for the improvement of the national body, and for their awareness of and attention to issues and concerns that impact the quality of service to both its community and membership.The United Black Police Officers’ Association (UBPOA) is based in Prince George’s County, Maryland, which is a suburb of the Washington, D.C. National Capital Region. Their goal is to create a meaningful organization that will help with the relationship between law enforcement, and the culturally diverse minority communities it serves. Their mission is to provide an organization for minority law enforcement officers with professional development and training. To create meaningful partnerships by helping to bridge the divide or perceived divide, between law enforcement agencies and the minority communities they serve. To mentor and establish a relationship with minority youth who are interested in careers within the law enforcement profession. To promote equal appointments, assignments, and promotions within the law enforcement profession.
