    We wish to thank you for registering to attend the Recruiting For Diversity in Law Enforcement: Outreach Strategies For Creating Multicultural Organizations training session being held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Brown University Sharpe Refectory Dining Hall, 144 Thayer Street, Providence, Rhode Island.

    Check-in will be from 8:00 AM until 8:30 AM, so come a bit early, enjoy the coffee and danish, and take an opportunity to meet some of the other participants.

    DIRECTIONS

    FROM THE SOUTH - Take I-95 NORTH into Providence to the Memorial Boulevard Exit (Exit 22A) towards downtown. Continue STRAIGHT on Memorial Boulevard to Washington Place, then turn LEFT. Washington Place becomes Waterman Street. Turn RIGHT on Thayer Street. 144 Thayer will be on the right.


    FROM THE NORTH - Take I-95 SOUTH into Providence to the US 6 W/RI 10 Exit, Exit 22C-B-A toward Providence Place/Downtown, then take Exit 22 A on the LEFT towards Downtown. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto Memorial Boulevard. Continue STRAIGHT on Memorial Boulevard to Washington Place, then turn LEFT. Washington Place becomes Waterman Street. Turn RIGHT on Thayer Street. 144 Thayer will be on the right.


    FOR THOSE STAYING OVERNIGHT AT THE PROVIDENCE MARRIOTT - Start out going WEST on Orms/RI 7 toward State St, turning LEFT on State Street. Take the FIRST LEFT onto Smith Street, then take the FIRST RIGHT onto Canal Street/US 44. Turn LEFT onto Washington Place. Washington Place becomes Waterman Street. Turn RIGHT on Thayer Street. 144 Thayer will be on the right.

    PARKING

    Limited parking is available in the lot at 111 Power Street, near the intersection of Thayer Street, as well as on-street parking on the following streets: George Street, Manning Street, Benevolent Street, Thayer Street. Placards for parking will be sent via email to participants during the week of July 25, 2011.

    FOR THOSE ATTENDING THE JAZZ AFTER DARK DINNER EVENT

    (from the Providence Marriott) - Start out going WEST on Orms St/RI 7 toward State Street, then take LEFT on State Street (State Street becomes Gaspee). Take LEFT onto Francis St, then MERGE onto RT 10 SOUTH towards Hartford. Take the RI 2/Reservoir Ave exit toward Cranston. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto Reservoir Ave, then turn LEFT onto Park Ave. 848 Park Ave will be on your right.

    Line, staff and administrative officers working in assignments for Community Policing Programs in any of the following types of agencies: Municipal Police Depts.; County Police/Sheriffs; State Police Depts.; Campus Police/Safety/Security; Federal Agencies; Transit/Port Authorities; Housing Police; School Resource Officers; Correctional Officers. As well, the staff and leadership of community organizations are welcome to attend. Workshops (except for those restricted to Members Only) are open to all law enforcement personnel.
